So, I had to create a shelf intricate locking mechanisms for a fancy looking cabinet that needed to align perfectly with some intricate locking mechanisms—yes, those technical thingamajigs that I'm not entirely sure what to call. But hey, let's hope the tolerances are forgiving, which, honestly, they should be.
Final product done...
To ensure the shelf matches seamlessly, the client plans to stain the rimu to achieve a close-ish match. To help them out, we provided some offcuts so they can experiment with different stains and blends. Interestingly, the client wasn't too fussed about an exact match; they were even open to using MDF and painting it if needed. But with these samples, they should be able to achieve a pretty close match.
