It may seem early, but I've already started work on an ANZAC Day project for a friend. The video will be released on ANZAC Day on the Wacky Wood Works Youtube Channel.

I'm well aware that ANZAC Day isn't until April 25th, which is still three months away. Usually, I'm scrambling at the last minute to complete the project, film it, edit the video, and upload it to YouTube. However, this time, I'm ahead of schedule, giving me ample time to edit the video before its release on ANZAC Day, as usual.

The quilt featured in the project was crafted by Xaria and gifted to our friend, who is an ex-army member. I've framed it with Purple Heart wood, deliberately leaving imperfections to symbolize the wounded soldier. As the small plaque accompanying the quilt states:

“Lest We Forget"
The battered look of the frame represents the wounded soldier. He may look good from a distance, but the scars are still there.

To add further depth to the display, I've mounted the quilt on a recycled piece of MDF from his kitchen, incorporating another element of his story. Additionally, I crafted a couple of picture turn button accessories using small screws and washers.

The video of the project will be out on the 25th April 2023.
