Given the nature of the project, we understand the importance of keeping costs manageable while ensuring top-notch quality. To achieve this balance, we opted for 3mm veneered walnut ply as the base material. Not only does it exude a natural elegance, but it also offers durability, ensuring that the coasters stand the test of time.
For the design element, we employed laser etching to meticulously engrave the club's logo onto each coaster. This precision technique not only adds a touch of sophistication but also ensures that every detail is faithfully reproduced.
To further enhance the aesthetic appeal and protect the surface, we applied a coat of lacquer, lending a glossy finish that accentuates the natural beauty of the wood. Additionally, to prevent scratches and provide stability, we affixed a sticky cork backing to the round coasters. While we had some in stock, we're currently exploring options for sourcing square-shaped or larger sheets to accommodate the square coasters.
Upon completion, we were delighted with the outcome. The coasters exuded a refined charm that exceeded our expectations. The combination of rich walnut tones, meticulously etched logos, and glossy lacquer finish resulted in a product that is not only functional but also visually striking.
Of course, we couldn't resist the opportunity to showcase our own brand, so we decided to engrave the Wacky Wood Works logo onto a couple of coasters as well. It's a subtle yet effective way to leave our mark on the project and showcase our craftsmanship.
Overall, we're pleased with how the coasters turned out, and we're confident that they'll be well-received by the BMX Club members. It's always rewarding to see our creations come to life and contribute to the community in meaningful ways.
